OUR TRIBUTE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

It is a privilege to have worked and served along with such great men as those found in the pages of this historic book. We and our families have suffered much, but the greatest pride and honor we have, was that our country and millions of people did not forget our plight. Our tribute goes so highly to those who have worked for so many long and tiring years to help secure our release and to determine a known status of our MlAs. It is a great tribute to our society to have such people with such strong feelings of national pride, concern, and a spirit of our National Heritage. I am most humbled to be able to associate with and know such fine people.

Since my release, I have traveled to Florida, Dallas, Texas, and to the Presidential Reception at Washington, D.C. I have had many speaking engagements, a wonderful fishing trip in the northern area of the Great Lakes.

I am presently flying T-38s at Randolph AFB, Texas, and will PCS to Langley AFB for two years of T-39 flying. Upon completion in the fall of 1975 I will attend Armed Force Staff College and then proceed to AFIT to receive my Masters Degree. I am looking forward to many long years in the service associating with a great organization and a great people.

Robert Abbott retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel. He resides in Michigan.
