In Loving Memory of Meriame Smith
March 8, 1980 - February 9, 1998

I watched her read devouring the book she held the book entitled; Wild Succulent Woman. Such a woman she longed to be such a girl i saw a wild, succulent, beautiful girl.
Willful and headstrong her spirit longed to be soaring high, flying wild, living fast and free
A succulent heart and beautiful spirit she fought, oft' in vain searching for herself, in life's complexity and pain
'Find the Gift' , a friend once said there is always a gift to see in our darkest moments, it's our hearts that hold the key
I need not look too far for the gift granted today to this wild, succulent, beautiful girl, this girl for which i pray
Today she is free free to fly no longer reaching for the sky, living far beyond her cries
Soaring now
swift and free on angels wings, her soul has peace.
