THE WORTH OF A MAN

What decides the making of a man's worth
As he leaves his mark upon this earth
Great wealth, degrees, to tell all he's done
Or tears that are shed when he passes on

Will gold buy a pass through the gates made of pearl
When finally passing from this mortal world
Will pieces of silver place his name in Life's Book
To find a man's value needs a deeper look

The size of his heart is what will be judged
How it produces compassion and love
Strong arms, gentle hands and a soft knee
For holding a child at the age of three

For each tear that is shed when he passes away
Is a good deed he has done along the way
Each tear that is wiped away from an eye
Represents a sole he has touched when passes by

The worth of a man can't be measured in wealth
For a man can be rich in family, friends and health
As he helps his fellow man when he is down
Sets yet another gem in his heavenly crown

Those that love him decides a man's worth
The soles he has touched while upon the earth
The degree of greatness, that can ever be had
Is the title of Father, Papa or Dad!
