Net Poem/Prayer As I boot up my PC, my modem dailing next to me, I ask the Lord, give me a sign.... Will I ever get on-line????? If you'd kindly let me through, I'll byte no more than I can chew. I'll surf the waves amid the Net, with my mouse, my loyal pet. And through each window I will see the websites that are offered me. Resisting any chat room's lure, I'll download only what is pure. If system errors don't prevail, I vow to read all my e-mail. If you save me from a crash, I'll dump my games into the trash. Just please don't take my CD-ROM! Thank you Lord, God Bless.com |

The Senility Prayer God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, The good fortune To run into the ones I do, And the eyesight To tell the difference |

The Beer Prayer
Our lager, Which art in barrels, Hallowed be thy drink.
Thy will be drunk, (I will be drunk), At home as it is in the pub.
Give us this day our foamy head, And forgive us of our spillage's,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration, But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer, The bitter and The lager.
For ever and ever.
BARMEN.

Computer Prayer
Every evening
as I'm laying here in bed
This little prayer keeps running
through my mortal head
God bless my mom and dad
and bless my little child
and take care of my spouse
when things start getting wild...
And God, there's one more thing
I wish that you could do
hope ya don't mind me asking
but 'please' bless my 'puter too??
Now I know that it's not normal
to bless a mother board
but listen just a second
while I explain to you, my Lord;
You see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends
inside those small components
rest a hundred of my 'BEST FRIENDS'
Some it's true I've never seen
and most I've never met
we've never shaken hands
or shared a meal as yet...
I know for sure they like me
by the kindness that they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how i travel to where they live
By faith is how I know them
much the same as I know You
I share in what life brings them
from that our friendship grew
"PLEASE" take an extra minute
from your duties up above
to bless this hunk of metal
that's filled with so much love.
Amen

A Computer Prayer
Our Computer, who art in the secured and air-conditioned back-room,
Error-Free be Thy name.
Your day has come, Your will be done
On tape as well as print-out.
Give us this day our daily access
And delete our user errors
As we users forgive system errors made against us.
And lead us not into unauthorized hacking,
But deliver us spare parts via Federal Express,
For Thine is the fastest system
With the most bytes
And storage capacity forever and ever
